2012 NEWPORT MOTORCYCLE RALLY
This is the 9th annual Newport motorcycle rally, hosted by the city of Newport Kentucky which is right across the river from Cincinnati, Ohio.
Ahhhh, let's see... say something nice... they had some very cool fireworks and it was a free family show.
Ok, I give up. It's a little strip of boardwalk down by the river, in front of the local aquarium. Very pretty, with a couple of old bridges on either side. A walking path with vendors lined up on either side, all pavement, hotter than hell during the daytime with some really cheap local bands and nothing else really going on except for the 4th of July fireworks at 10pm and $3.00 a plastic cup o' beer.
They really don't do much at all to entertain the people, there's no good bands, no celebrity guest appearances, speeches by the mayor, biker rights organisations, bike builders or really much of anything else going on all day long. It's a great place to take the kids, buy them an ice cream cone and maybe a rally shirt and hang out all day waiting for the late evening fourth of July fireworks. They did for some reason get a good crowd once the sun went down, so I guess it was an OK show if you like that kind of thing. It left me with the feeling that these guys really aren't even trying.

ENTRY FEES : NO entry fee, it's a free family show.
LIVE BANDS : A bunch of local bands were playing, but they never bothered to post them on their flyer, website or the schedule so I have no clue who was who banging tunes out there.
OTHER ENTERTAINMENT : Nothing? Maybe. I don't really know. They was supposed to have been some charity ride and bike show, but I couldn't find out any information about it except a vague ''I think that stuff is on Saturday''
RALLY GROUNDS : Located at the boardwalk by the Ohio river in Newport, Kentucky.
