Pretty good, but rather disorganized... Been doing this show for the last couple of years and it was always a pretty damn good weekend. But that may be because Tim York, the man behind the Hog Rock rally used to be in charge. This year the City of Shawneetown took it over and let their lack of experience shine. They didn't have any show schedules out at the rally, nor do they have a web site so no one really knew what was going on. The band list was on a hand written piece of paper I scrounged from the sound guy. I'd be walking down main street and someone would walk up to me and say ''you just missed the bike games'', or the bike show (I heard a rumor that they had one, but couldn't find anyone that actually saw it). And they forget to supply showers for the campers in the city park... or let anyone know about the Friday night firedancers... and so on. I guess having Tim York in run the Old Shawneetown rally these last few years has us spoiled. What can I say, you sure can tell when the guy in charge know's what he's doing. It really wasn't a bad show. The bands were pretty good, they had a couple of wet t shirt contests every day, some bike games (apparently) and you can always get out of the heat and hang out at Hog Daddy's Saloon which is one of the largest and best biker bars I've been to. Also have to mention the ''Bank of Erotica'' which is an amateur strip club and pretty damn cool. Ah, what the hell. It's only a lousy $10 to get in and camp out for the entire weekend, things could have been a lot worse I guess. I did speak to the mayor of the town who admitted things were a little ''fubar'ed'' this year, but they plan on rectifying the situation for next summer's show. I had planned on doing two shows this weekend and I did pop over 3-4 times to the Little Sturgis rally which is only about 15 miles down the road... much to my chagrin. I've never seen Little Sturgis half full before, nor as quiet as graveyard. Believe it or not the street rally was BETTER than Little Sturgis this year! Who'da thunk it? I guess jacking up their gate fees didn't work out too well for them. I admit I was a little let down by the Street rally this year, but honestly only because I had higher expectations based on the last few times out there. It really wasn't too bad. And what the hell, you can camp out at Old Shawneetown for only $10 and just ride your scooter 15 miles down the road and avoid all the camping fees at Little Sturgis. Bob rates this party a fair 6/10 score
