History in the making. The very first Bike Week New Orleans.       I heard about this and managed to finagle of pass to go down and check it out. Normally first time shows are kind of iffy, but with both Easyriders and the Broken Spoke Saloon behind I figured it would be worth the trip.       More fun than Bike Week Daytona, with none of the traffic jams. Located right downtown New Orleans, within easy walking distance of the world famous Bourbon street. Hotels all around, and the Easyriders V-Twin show and the Broken Spoke Saloon located right across the street from each other. And yes, your gate pass grants you access to both. What else could you ask for?       The bands were slamming. Friday Edgar Winter put on one great show, and Blackfoot got up on stage and rocked the place out Saturday Night. Hell's Bells is one great AC/DC tribute band, Farrell Webber put several excellent shows as always... and Aultimate Ozzy stole the entire weekend. If you like your music hard rocking the band line-up was hard to beat.       Daily performances by the Lucky Daredevil Thrill show, the American Motor Drome Wall of Death people and the Budweiser burnout bike kept things rolling right along. And of course they had a bunch of enterprising vendors out selling everything from crawfish to tattoos.       Just across the street the Easyriders V-Twin show hosted the Chrome Kitchen cookoff, Bike Show, Purfect Angels dancing girls and some other stuff... including a suprise visit by Sylvester Stalone who was in town filming a movie and stopped in to buy himself a new scooter!       I have to take a second to mention the rides. Friday's Coca-Cola Plantation Poker Run winner recieved a brand new Sportser 883, and Saturday was the Southern Comfort Wetlands ride with their own activities out at the historic Woodlands Plantation.       I really liked the way the 'Spoke and Easyriders combined for this show. One pass grants access to all the different bands and events at both places, which was very cool and a real money saver. It wasn't no backwoods ''let's all get drunk and naked '' party but rather a very well put on motorcycle event. If you like Thunder Beach in Panama City or Daytona Bike Week you owe it to yourself to ride over and check it out. You'll fall in love with Bike Week New Orleans.
