LOCATION : Sandy Hook, MS ENTRY FEES : $25 weekend armband. $20 tent camping fee. RV hookups available, $75 for 3 days, $25 extra per day. $20 golf cart / 4 wheeler fee. 2008 Labor Day biker party party before the hurricane ! The labor day biker party has become somewhat of a tradition down in southern louisiana/mississippi and even hurricane Gustav could'nt really dampen the festivities. This one was kind of weird because the storm was headed right for it, predicted to hit land on the last day of the rally (monday). Which didn't keep a couple of thousand people from showing up on friday & sticking around until sunday morning! It was a pretty good rally, one thing that's different from most other parties is that they have their main contest at 7pm every night. The schedule is rather relaxed, unlike many rallies that try to pack in as much entertainment as they can... but it's still a good times, just a little more mellow than some of the other rallies. Of course once that 7pm contest rolls around you can forget all about the mellow, the place really cranks up after sundown. To bad about the hurricane Gustav dampening the sunday party, but what the hell most rallies end on Sunday anyways. A couple of local bands cranked out some tunes, they had two really good contests and some decent saturday afternoon biker games... all in all it wasn't a bad weekend. Too bad about having to take off on sunday, they had a bunch party games scheduled that I never got a chance to see. |
